Laura Mousavi-Zadeh

I am co-editor of e-Permanent an online platform for artist’s works. I do this with Cheryl Gallaway. So far we have commissioned three artists from open calls: Constant Dullaart, Silvio Lorusso and Ruth Höflich. E-Permanent is a current project of Permanent Projects of which I am Director.

Previously Permanent Projects has produced exhibitions, events, residencies and publications in Brighton & Hove. Projects realised include: Platform X, a series of residencies at 20 Bedford Place taking place between March and September 2010 / Experiments in Black by Lotta Antonsson at The Regency Town House as part of Brighton Photo Fringe 2010 / Pale Blue and Green by Sarah Cooney and Jess Flood-Paddock 2009 /Reviving Isolation by Aya Fukami 2009 / On Overgrown Paths by Ben Rivers, as part of Cinecity 2008 / Reconciliation by Jason Evans 2008.

I also work as a freelance arts project manager. Most recently I worked on Brighton Photo Fringe BPF13 (October – December 2013), and Brighton Photo Fringe OPEN11 (August - December 2011). In 2010 I coordinated A Curriculum for A Foundation, a two month studio-based artists’ residency with a programme of visiting artists, curators and critics, March/April 2010. From 2009 – 2011 I was co-chair of a network of Brighton and Hove Arts Organisations, VABH (Visual Arts Brighton and Hove). I worked with this network to produce Brighton Art Map.

My other projects include HATS, a collaboration between Jane Cheadle, Sarah Cooney, Aya Fukami and myself. Joint work is made through loose improvised experiments or by imposing arbitrary systems. HATS residency: December 2009 and May 2010, Smartloft, Choriner Strasse, Berlin. HATS Screening event: HATS ON, Smartloft, Choriner Strasse, 7, Berlin, May, 2010
